Dr. Rao, one of the founders and Principals of the firm, has over 30 years of consulting, research and teaching experience in geological, hydrogeological, and environmental studies including soil and groundwater contamination investigations and remediation. He has directed, managed and provided technical support to more than 300 major environmental projects consisting of environmental site assessments, soil and groundwater contamination investigations, human health and ecological risk assessments, groundwater flow and contaminant transport modeling, risk-based corrective actions, alternate clean-up levels evaluations, design and implementation of remedial actions including construction monitoring, wetlands delineation and permitting, laboratory data evaluations and data validation, and environmental permitting and compliance (CERCLA, RCRA, UST, CWA, NPDES, CAA, TSCA, and OSHA). Dr. Rao specializes in the investigation and remediation of sites contaminated with Dense, Non-Aqueous Phase Liquids (DNAPLs, such as many chlorinated organics, coal tars, creosote, PCB oils, etc.) Dr. Rao was previously employed as a Program Manager, Senior Project Advisor/Project Director and Vice President of various firms including Hydro-Search (now part of GeoTrans/Tetra Tech), Woodward-Clyde Consultants (now URS), Geraghty & Miller (now Arcadis), Dresdner Robin Environmental Management, and GZA Geo-environmental, Inc. Most recently, held the positiona of Executive Vice President in Hirani Engineering and SCI Engineering, P.C. Dr. Rao taught graduate courses in University of Toronto, Indiana University and New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). He was the principal instructor for many short courses in groundwater contamination. Dr. Rao published more than 35 papers and abstracts in international journals and wrote hundreds of technical reports. Dr. received his Ph.D degree in geology/ geochemistry from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN. Later, he continued his post-doctoral studies in radiogenic geochemistry for four years in University of Toronto (Canada). Dr. Rao also holds a masters degree in geological engineering and a bachelor's degree in mathematics and physics. He is a registered professional geologist in many states and recently he has been approved by NJDEP as a Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP). Umesh Kharod, P.E.Director of Engineering/Civil & Structural Engineer Mr. Kharod is a Civil/Structural Engineer with over 40 years of experience. His expertize includes foundation and structural design for a variety of industrial (pharmceutical, chemical), institutional, commercial and residential buildings. He specializes in concrete, steel and timber structures. Mr. Kharod was formerly employed or consulted with various national and internations engineering firms including Ford, Bacon & Davis Industries, Research Cottrell Corporation, and Foster Wheeler Corporation. Mr. Kharod is a registered professional engineer in New Jersey and Maryland. Dr. P.Lamba is a chemical engineer with 24 years of experience in the design and O&M of groundwater remediation and wastewater treatment systems, environmental permitting and compliance (ECRA/ISRA and CAA), design of air pollution control systems, hazards analysis and risk assessments. Dr. Lamba received his Ph.D and masters degrees in chemical engineering from University of Virginia. He also holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry. Mr. Vernick is a civil and environmental engineer with over 40 years of experience in the design and O&M of groundwater remediation and wastewater treatment systems, environmental permitting and compliance (ECRA/ISRA, RCRA ), solid and hazardous waste management, and water supply. Mr. Vernick received his masters degrees in environmental engineering from New York University and his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Columbia University. He is a registered professional engineer in all of the states encompassing New England and Mid-Atlantic region. Dr. Rao Kolluru specializes in human health risk assessments, toxicological studies, environmental and occupational health, hazardous waste management, and enviro-economics and strategic management. He has over 40 years of experience in these specialty fields. Dr. Rao was formerly employed by CH2M Hill, Woodward-Clyde Consultants (now URS), and American Cyanamid Company. He received Doctorate in Public Health and MBA degree from Columbia University. He also holds a chemical engineering degree. Dr. Rao is an author of many publications and books. Rao V. Dr. Maddineni is registered professional civil egineer with over 40 years of experience. His expertize includes dam and reservoir engineering, hydrologic and water resources engineering, flood analysis, structural stability analysis of dams and safety evaluations, design of stormwater collection systems and pump stations, and water quality modeling. Dr. Maddineni has also directed and managed environmental studies and investigations for soil and groundwater contamination evaluations and remediation. Dr. Maddineni has graduated from Utah State University with a Ph.D degree in hydraulics engineering. He is registered professional engineer in MA, NY, and PA. Kal Gill Environmental Engineer Mr. Gill is an environmental engineer with about 10 years of experience in environmental field investigations, environmental assessments, laboratory data evaluations, operation and maintenance of remediation systems including waste water treatment systems, and day-to-day management of environmental projects.
